Bonnie is a local performer and song writer, studied at Vancouver Island University majoring in voice in the Bachelor of Arts Music Program. Studies included jazz & classical voice, piano, theory, musicianship, the vocal jazz choir & the Malaspina College Choir. Bonnie is an experienced music teacher working with children in the community since 2009. She has been directing the Errington Children’s Choir for 5 years.
Since September 2018 – 2023 she provided private music lessons at Studio 29 Academy of Music and also at the Bonaventure Program.

Fibre Arts Mentorship Collective
This is a group of intergeneration’s (mostly seniors) who meet for the social aspect and to mentor and teach each other in the traditional fibre arts, preserving this knowledge for future generations. (spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet, felting, stitching, embroidery)
There are many levels of expertise in the fibre arts group that is shared with newer members. This teaching is open to anyone in the community that wishes to join and learn by sitting next to someone with more experience.

Rather than putting emphasis on finishing a complete landscape or still life every class we will break down the usual components into intense subject studies. Each week over the 4 week set of classes a different subject can be tackled, for instance week #1 may be a study of rocks in many formations from pebbles to a cliff face. Some of the subject matter will consist of trees and foliage, clouds, skies and weather conditions, moving and still water. At the end of the set these elements can all be combined to create a more comprehensive finished piece.
