The Old School House Arts Centre (TOSH) invites you to our 28th Annual Grand Prix Plein Air painting race modified for COVID19, for the summer of 2021! Every Friday in July and August, 3 painters in the streets! The Grand Prix d’Art is a three-hour painting “race” that requires artists to complete a work of art “en plein air” (working outside, not in a studio). Kitefest is sponsored by the Parksville Lions Society and the BC Kitefliers Association, and was launched in July 2006 taking place during the community's Beachfest events during the summer months. A textile artist, Boerky’s inspiration and creativity comes from the natural beauty that surrounds her and her love of play. She randomly chooses elements from printed cottons and designs her compositions. Her technique involves a meticulous cutting, fusing, machine stitching textile processes. 

An all season collection of miniature landscape scenes. These are derived representations from all four provinces Boerky has lived in.

The PGOSA registration table will be at the Park Picnic Shelter every Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 am until the end of August. Come down to renew your membership and stay for coffee and socialize with your fellow PGOSA members.

Coffee – regular or decaf – will be $1.00 which includes a refill and cookie. For non-coffee drinkers there will be hot water for tea or orange juice.

Sue Clark developed an artistic stitching technique that uses fabric and thread on stretched canvas to produce dynamic Embroidered Fabric Artworks.

Using fabric and thread as a medium much in the same way she had previously used oil paint. Broad strokes of intricately shaped pieces of hand-cut fabric are layered upon a stretched canvas. Enjoy Yoga on the Beach on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 9:30am - 10:30am throughout the summer until Aug. 30.

Please bring your yoga mat and water at least 20 minutes before class to ensure a place on the kite field (near the end of Beachside Drive in the Parksville Community Beach Park).
