Spring Retreat: Awaken, with a Renewed Mindfulness of Friendship

This retreat takes place at Westwood Lake at 2371 Arbot Rd. in Nanaimo, BC and will offer the opportunity to reflect on friendship as a way of being.
What does loving friendship mean to each of us?
We will explore our relationship with creation, with ourselves, with humanity and with the Divine.
In this season of Spring, let us look with fresh eyes at loving friendship. Are we a friend to ourselves and how does this impact our inner life?
In what ways are we gifted with the friendship of other people and especially our close soul friend (anam cara)?
As we move out beyond ourselves, how does our friendship circle include creation? How are we blessed by the bursting forth with “spring green” and brilliant colours and what about the-more-than-human creatures-wild and domestic?
In the stillness, we may feel drawn to explore how we come to renew and cherish our relationship with the Divine…friendship.
With Christians approaching Holy Week, in what ways do we respond to Jesus’ invitation to be his friend?
Or, as we see the Buddha reaching out in compassion for all life, how does that enlighten our own spiritual path?
With Jews preparing to celebrate Passover, we are reminded of the faithful friendship of the Divine in our lives.
There will be time to rest, walk, meditate and pray in a lovely setting and to enjoy both silence and conversation.
Linda St.Clair Ph.D., ordained minister and multi-faith advocate will facilitate this retreat and Lynn Haley M.R.E. will co-facilitate.
The program starts at 3:00 pm on April 8 and runs until 4:00 PM on April 10.
