Chad McGillivary will speak about Emergency Preparedness. His goal is to ensure that the people of Vancouver Island have their emergency plan and supplies in order. His presentation will include
– Planning for emergencies (he gives out Free Preparedness plans and literature)
– Evacuation, Response & Reception Centres
– Provincial recommendations for your emergency kit
– What documents to store and protect
– Pet and animal considerations
– Risks in your region and how to be ready
– What to include in a kit and we also give a kit demonstration
Chad brings a complete kit and goes over each item in the kit. Sometimes it’s not immediately apparent what that item might be used for and why you should have it, and he does a great job of explaining the how’s and why’s.
