The Healing Powers of Sacred Chants

India’s Dr Hari Haaren will be performing Sunday, March 17, 2019, to Monday, March 18, 2019, at Nanaimo, BC’s Bethlehem Centre for a soothing weekend of Sound Healing including a Kirtan chanting workshop and a Sound Healing concert. Dr Haaren is an international authority on Classical Indian Music and Music Therapy. He travels the globe giving seminars, concerts and private Indian astrological readings and sound healing sessions.
With a PhD in ethnomusicology and a Hon. PhD in Music Therapy, Dr Haaren has composed and released 24 CDs and 3 DVDs on Indian Music Therapy through musical melodies from traditional Indian instruments like the sitar, tambura, tabla, veena, violin, flute, santur, mridangam and the jaltarangam. Dr Haaren works with IT and legal professionals, journalists, police, children, heart, diabetes and cancer patients and those suffering from nervous disorders.
Dr Haaren will explain the meanings of simple but effective mantras and chants. He will help participants learn and recite sacred sounds. Sunday at 6:30 pm a Kirtan Chanting Workshop ($25) will be held followed by an 8 pm concert ($30). Going to both events saves $5. Monday from 9 am-8 pm Dr Haaren is inviting the public to private one hour $90 Sound Healing consultation sessions. Staying overnight at the Bethlehem Centre includes a tasty dinner on Sunday night and breakfast and lunch on Monday for $135. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience a private Sound Healing session at the scenic location of the lakeside retreat centre. Visitors can participate in the Kirtan followed by the concert and then stay overnight for a private Sound Healing session the next day.
Located on the side of Mt. Benson visitors enjoy taking a mountain hike or lakeside and labyrinth walk. The Bethlehem Centre even houses the Bill Godden Finger Labyrinth Museum, the only one of its kind in the world unique to Vancouver Island.
