His realistic watercolours are representative of his life experiences and observations, often depicting working friends, people he's met, their lives and their jobs. The West Coast of BC where he lives, the ranchla...more info

Mattila + Martin: Painting & Collage Exhibition
Donna Mattila: "In his 'Notebooks', George Braque wrote 'In art there is only one thing that counts; the thing you can't explain'. This is how I think about writing about my painting; either it works or it doesn't. My imagery originates from many walks in residential areas and urban streets,"
Tony Martin: "The images in this current series mainly concern a combination of seascapes and vessels. Influences: Local environment and travel documentatio...more info

2019 is the UNESCO International year of Indigenous Languages. Languages are powerful and potent markers of identity and culture, yet many of us cannot even say “hello” in the language of the people on whose traditional territory we live, work and play.
You might just expand your vocabulary—and your appreciation for the Indigenous languages spoken in BC—after visiting the Qualicum Beach Museum to view the travelling exhibition “Our Living Languages: ...more info
