Terry Taylor will give a presentation on Mushrooms and More. Terry and his wife live in Eaglecrest in Qualicum Beach.
Terry has studied mushrooms for 50 years and was one of the founding members of the Vancouver Mycological Society. He was educated at UBC.
Before retirement he worked as a science librarian at Vancouver Public Library.
After 1994 he did surveys for rare plants for environmental consultant companies in various parts of B.C., and was involved with an antibiotics research project at UBC Department of Microbiology. On this project they discovered a new potential anti-tumor agent – uncialamycin.
Terry received Queen’s Jubilee medal in 2003 for environmental education activities.
He is a member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society.
