Help get our finances “out of the toilet!” Groundswell is the reason GroundZero Acoustic Lounge exists, as GZAL was created first as a practice space. From these humble beginnings this unique venue has grown into something special. We have recently installed a second washroom that is wheelchair accessible. Funding this washroom was difficult as GroundZero is run without hope of ever achieving a profit as we give a large majority of door sales to our visiting musicians. Please come out to enjoy a great night of fun and dancing!
Groundswell is a “coming together” of seasoned musicians who have all played in several bands over the years. Together they feel that they have found the right combination; from their first practice together they have felt a synergy that has continued to grow and thrive. The members of this group have been involved in various musical projects over the years, playing a variety of music, from cover songs to original compositions. With a nice mix of female and male vocal talents, Groundswell can tackle a wide variety of genres, and are able to adapt their song selection to fit the needs of any performance. They can play a tender ballad, a familiar old rocking’ dance tune, or something more modern. CCR, Adele, The Rolling Stones and Van Morrison are a few of the bands whose songs GS play. They refuse to categorize themselves as a band that plays only a certain type of music. Their members are based in and around the Oceanside area, except for keyboardist Adrian Proctor who resides in the Cowichan Valley.
