The QF Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition & Exhibition begins with the "pound up" on Thursday July 12th, when sculptors build and fill their forms. Once their forms are filled and the sculptor feels they are solidly packed, they may remove their forms and begin carving. Drawing and painting skills will be used in the planning, designing, and decorating of our work. Inspiration and examples will be shared daily. This camp often results in hybrid creations as participants take skills from one project and combine with others. Pattern making, contrast apron, needle felting and free-style embroidery projects.
