Amateur Radio Field Day 2018
Since 1933 ham radio operators across North America and around the world have established temporary radio communications facilities in public locations on Field Day weekend – the fourth weekend in June – to showcase the science and skill of amateur radio. Field Day communications are accomplished using emergency power and under conditions which simulate how we might provide communications during a major disaster. More than 35,000 people from thousands of locations participated in Field Day in 2017.

The Parksville Quilt Guild hosts a premier quilt exhibit every 3 years featuring over 300 beautiful quilts, a merchants mall, boutique, daily trunk shows, door prizes, charity quilt raffle, junior fibre arts and a wine bar. The Parksville Quilt Guild is the second oldest guild in BC and the oldest on Vancouver Island. The members of the guild are extremely talented quilters and quilt artists.

Through the month of June the Golden Shrine will be open for an hour of guided meditation at 10 am. The grounds will also be open to the public until 3pm. Come and visit the Golden Buddha.
