Kayak Expedition
Oct 27, 2018
|
Join us as Mathilde Gordon discusses her 3 month kayak adventure from Juneau, Alaska to Victoria on Vancouver Island, which she completed with her friend this past Summer. The duo did the expedition to raise awareness about marine debris (plastics in the ocean), and fundraise for the Living Oceans Society and Tangaroa Blue, two organisations who run beach cleanups and use data to tackle the trash at the source. Mathilde will talk about how they completed the journey without using any single use plastics. She has been living single-use plastic-free for over 2 years now and will be discussing ways on how to reduce plastics in our daily lives. Get your questions answered on how food was stored on the kayak trip, how to make beeswax wraps (an alternative for cling-wrap) and other tips that you might not have thought of! No registration required. Event is by donation. If you would like to know more about the expedition, visit www.passageadventures.org or their Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/passageadventures/)
