Anxiety Workshop

Whether we choose to accept it or not, anxiety is a part of life. We all encounter it, yet most of us are unaware of how it impacts our daily lives.
Pietro Abela will draw upon his 28 years as a therapist and teacher of personal growth as well as his own experiences and challenges with anxiety, to show why anxiety as an opportunist flourishes within environments of denial. Awareness and understanding of anxiety is foundational to its management.
In the first half of the workshop, Pietro will present the many properties and outcomes of anxiety, so that participants can become aware of how anxiety may be affecting and influencing their lives. Topics include:
The difference between fear and anxiety.
Why when anxiety gains a foothold it is so reluctant to leave.
How anxiety as a master of disguise prefers to work undercover.
The importance of taking ownership of anxiety.
Why anxiety seeks to influence and often control almost every facet of our life
…and much more.
In the second half of the workshop, Pietro will share and supervise a technique he designed, which when self-applied, can potentially challenge and diminish anxiety’s influence and control. Participants will have the opportunity for experiential learning through interactive supervised exercises throughout the workshop.
Please note: This workshop aims to provide awareness of anxiety and the tools to manage it. This is not a therapy group. In the interest of everyone attending, therapy will not be provided during the workshop. However, professional referrals can be given for anyone requiring personal support.
