Yin Yoga aims to improve fascial tissue health throughout the body targeting 13 different meridians. The practice of Yin consists of a series of longer held postures where the muscles are fully suppoorted by blocks and bolsters to promote relaxation of the muscle and allow the yin postures to work deeply in to the fascial tissues stimulating cellular recovery through applying a passive stress. Gentle Hatha is a mindful and meditative approach to opening the body with softness.
Shauna teaches an overall balanced yoga class with postures that move the spine in all directions and incorporating balance postures, floor work and mindfulness practice- pranayama/yoga nidra etc. Emphasis on breath, relaxation, balance, strength and stretch. This class is complete with opportunities for self-care bringing forth surrender and release with nurturing and ease.
